QGAM KHÃX'A

Born in 1965 Qgam Khãx'a grew up on farms in the Ghanzi district.  He joined the Kuru Art Project in 1997.
He is a quiet, serious man who, has deep knowledge of the animals, the veld and traditions of his people.
Qgam still has vivid recollections of the 'hunter-gatherer' way of life.  He is married and has five children.
Apart from the small herd of goats he depends on his art to provide for his family.
He is also a good traditional dancer.

"A father has to teach his children about the wild animals, because that was their livelihood."
