KATJA ABBOT

Abbot has a fascination for what goes on below the surface during dreamtime and delves into the world that exists on the periphery of our reason and vision. Spontaneously the creatures that inhabit this dark and silent realm emerge and reveal themselves in her art.

Bunolagus in Red Pantus (2019)

“Bunolagus in Red Pantus emerged while I was doing a project exploring the effect of light pollution on moths. During this time, I was constantly visited by moths. Rabbits seem to pop up in my work a lot – usually without my permission! So here is Bunolagus in the depths of a beautiful dark night with a small tribe of moths.”
